Taylor had an incredible experience in the referral call center last week. He spoke with a woman who loved the mormons. She said no mater what they don't judge. She is 58 and living with her mother who don't allow the missionaries. He talked with her for 30 minutes where most calls only last 2-3 minutes. She kept saying she was feeling the spirit through him. They got over 85 referrals in 2 days. He committed her to meet with the missionaries at her daughters house and attend a church closest to her home. He was excited about this experience to share the gosple and bear his testimony.
He said you just open your mouth and the spirit does the rest! He said it is an awesome experience. He has a really shy companion, but he is finally getting him out of his shell. He is happy and focused even with these lengthy classes. He told his dad he is in class for 13 hours a day, so his dads bisopric meetings are nothing!!! He is full of great advise for all family members and we hope we can grow spiritually along with him. He loves and looks forward to news from home, so please drop him a note. He leaves for PA on the 10th of December!

About the Harrisburg, PA Mission
Just a note of interest! This mission is rich in national and church heritage. This state is where our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and later brought forth the Constitution of our country. George Washington brought the Revolutionary Army through a crucial winter at Valley Forge, and for some years was the first capitol of the United States. These events opened the way for the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. Our countries destiny as a land of freedom was formed by the critical Civil War battle ofGettysburg and Lincoln’s Gettysburgaddress afterwards.
The Susquehanna River flows through the mission. On its banks near Harmony,Pennsylvania, the Prophet Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery received the Aaronic Priesthood from John the Baptist and were then baptized. Later, only a few miles away Peter, James and John restored the Melchizedek Priesthood to the earth. The book of Mormon was largely translated in Pennsylvania. This is the state where Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Bruce R. McConkie, Alvin R. Dyer, and other great missionaries brought many souls into the Church. Taylor, We didn't have the chance to see or talk to you before you left. Congratulations on your mission call. You will be an awesome missionary. Living in the mission field makes us realize how lucky we are to have the gospel. Keep focused and work hard...we know you will. You are a great example.
